The city website has this information for the general public:
President and Mrs. George W. Bush will depart Washington D.C. on January 20th and head to Midland where they will be welcomed home to Texas! A Welcome Home Rally is scheduled for the afternoon of January 20th.
- Ticket distribution for the Welcome Home Rally will begin on Wednesday, January 14th, at the following locations:
- The George W. Bush Childhood Home, 1412 W. Ohio
- Midland Chamber of Commerce, 109 N. Main
- Midland City Hall, 300 N. Loraine
- And all of the Kent Kwik locations in the Midland/Odessa area (see below)
Tickets are free but need for admission into the rally. One ticket is good for one family unit – so not every individual or child needs a ticket. In fact, we encourage you to bring your children to this historic event.
There is a 5 ticket per person limit so that we can ensure everyone has the opportunity to attend if they so desire.
Gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday and close at 4:00 p.m.
Pre-program will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will include live country music entertainment.
Later this week we will announce who will be performing, where exact entrances will be, parking information, and other details about the event.
Everyone is encouraged to attend this historic Midland event and to pick up tickets in a timely fashion.
