The class of '64 may have had a pretty good spot right in front of the stage, and some of our classmates' handsome faces showed up on the jumbotron. By the time I arrived crowd was too thick to have made it to that area, but I'm not complaining. It was a huge event and enjoyable from any vantage point. If you are interested, you can read my take on it at George Bush Homecoming.
But I would like to know what you thought about it. Were you there? We would all love to hear what you have to say.

We just want to thank all who came to celebrate our President and First Lady coming home. To those who could not make this event, you missed a fantastic event. You were there in spirit with us.
At first I was hesitant to spend 1-6 over there, even if we could bring blankets. So we headed over around 2:30PM, it was already crowded. Wish we would have gone over sooner. There was not room to sit on our blankets, not room to move around to get cramps out of our legs, but I would not have traded this opportunity for anything.
It was wonderful seeing so many honoring and celebrating our President. I don't care what your political leanings are, Mr. Bush did a fantastic job for us - I would not want to be in the shoes of our leader. We had eight years of a leader with integrity, class and respect for others. Both George and Laura treated the office of president and the White House with the dignity that it deserves. It is about time that was brought back there. We are so very proud of them.
While our President was speaking, my father, who is a World War II veteran as many of your fathers are, would NOT sit in his wheel chair. He stood at attention in honor of our former commander-in-chief, with tears running down his face. He was so honored to be there and to be that close and to be able to see both George and Laura. That really moved me and those around us.
Once again, thank you for giving us the opportunity of sharing this event and welcoming two wonderful Texans home. We wish you both the best. God bless you and your family. God bless our country.

Ray and I were unable to attend but we were watching it live on my computer in the ICU at St. Luke's Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. We were there in spirit and we are grateful to the President and First Lady for restoring dignity and honor to the presidency.
